Deanna Okun-Nachoff*, Managing Lawyer, B.A., LLB
Deanna began her legal career in the not-for-profit sector. She has been working in the immigration field for over 20 years. The focus of her practice is on litigation before the Immigration Appeal Division (refugee claims and removal order appeals), as well as humanitarian and compassionate (H&C) applications for permanent residence. She is also frequently called upon as an expert witness in Canadian immigration law.
Deanna is a former chair of the Canadian Bar Association's national immigration law section, and co-hosts Borderlines, a weekly podcast hosted on Acast and livestreamed on YouTube (generally Fridays at 10am PT).
Deanna has been acknowledged by "Best Lawyers" since 2014, and has been chosen as "lawyer of the year" in immigration in 2025, 2023 and 2017.

Priscila Pimont, Associate B.I.R. (International Relations), LLB, LLM
Priscila began her legal career in her native Brazil, where she worked in the courts supporting judges. She completed an LLM (Master of Law) degree at the University of British Columbia, and then completed her articles at a not-for-profit legal clinic in Vancouver where she worked in numerous fields of law. During that period of articling, she began doing work in the immigration field. She joined Deanna as an Associate immediately upon receiving her call to the bar of British Columbia.
Since becoming a Canadian lawyer, Priscila has worked exclusively in the immigration field, handling cases before the Federal Court and the Immigration and Refugee Board, as well as on a broad variety of applications for temporary and permanent residence. Priscila is able to assist clients in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
